I am a NYS licensed psychologist with a master’s degree in psychology from St. John’s University and a PhD in psychology from Hofstra University. I am listed in the national register of healthcare psychologists and am a certified Adlerian Depth Therapist. I have also completed level 1 training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy and Level 2 training in Internal Family Systems Therapy. I continue to receive training and supervision in IFS. I also continue my training in cognitive-behavior therapy.
I mention my commitment to my learning various approaches to psychotherapy as I firmly believe that patients are doing something courageous by seeking and committing their valuable resources to the task of psychotherapy. Such commitment should be honored with my courage to learn all I can and commit to my own personal growth. Drawing on my 36 years of experience in rehabilitation centers, schools, and private practice we will work together to create a personalized psychotherapy that meets your chosen goals.
Psychotherapy is not a quick fix.
In fact, psychotherapy can only be part of one’s journey.
However, it can be an encouraging step on the road in becoming your best self.
My approach is collaborative and encouraging.
Psychotherapy can help you to feel courageous as you move toward your values
and goals even in the face of adversities, symptoms, illnesses, traumas, social problems, and the suffering that comes with being human.
Psychotherapy can help you savor the positive moments of living: the accomplishments and setbacks, the love that radiates from marriage and family life, the deep bonds of friendship, the joy of a solid day of meaningful work, and the sense of belonging to the larger community that comes from contributing, even in a small way, to human flourishing.
I invite you to initiate a life-long process of self development.
I provide psychotherapy for all individuals and couples between the ages of 18 to 75.
I am especially interested in helping people to transform:
- problems in everyday living
- marital conflicts
- problems with young adults and their families
- depression and other mood disorders
- stress, anxiety, panic, OCD
- traumatic experiences
- enduring personality characteristics
- career and work issues
- anger problems
- life transitions
- grief and loss
The world was not created for us to enjoy,
but we are created in order to evolve the cosmos.
